While fireplaces are great for keeping the house warm, prolonged use is not good for your health.

She warns that fireplaces release tiny particles that can be breathed in.
Prolonged exposure can have serious effects on your lung and heart health, regardless of the type of fireplace.
Van der Walt recommends not using your fireplace every day.
