It’s finally Olympics week!

Team South Africa is getting ready to raise the flag on the podium.

This year’s Paris Olympics runs from 27 July to 11 August.

The good news is you can watch 149 of our athletes compete on the world stage.

Unlike the Cricket and Rugby World Cups, South Africans will have several free and paid-for options to get their Olympic fix.

Here are five ways that you can watch the 2024 Paris Olympics:

DStv (Supersport)

MultiChoice’s DStv again secured pay-TV broadcasting and streaming rights for the tournament.

All Olympic events will be available across its SuperSport channels.

SABC

The public broadcaster secured free-to-air rights.

Most of its coverage will be broadcast on its SABC Sports Channel with a select number of sporting events shown on SABC 1, SABC 2, and SABC 3.

Showmax

Showmax confirmed live Olympic content will be available on its Showmax Premier League bouquet.

The mobile-only plan package starts from R69 per month.

OpenView

OpenView subscribers are not left out.

The SABC says live Olympic action will be available on the satellite TV service via SABC 1, SABC 2, SABC 3, and OpenView.

Unlike the Rugby and Cricket World Cups, the SABC procured the rights from the International Olympic Committee.

SABC+

Don’t have a TV? No stress.

The SABC confirms all the Olympic action will be available on its newly updated SABC+ app.

Download the app, and create an account using your mobile number and password.

From there you are free to watch, with no payment necessary.
