Protest action halts commute for motorists using N12 south of Lenasia
Authorities say the situation is tense at Nana’s Farm, where residents took to the streets from the early hours of Monday morning.

JOHANNESBURG - Police have arrested four people in relation to a service delivery protest on the N12 in the south of Joburg on Monday morning.
The individuals were charged with public violence after several cars were reportedly stoned and torched while the N12 East was barricaded with rocks, burning tires and debris.
Preliminary information revealed that residents of the Nana's Farm informal settlement, on the border of Eldorado Park and Lenasia South, took to the streets over service delivery issues in the early hours of Monday morning.

JMPD spokesperson, Xolani Fihla, said that officials had managed to quell the tension.
"The situation was tense earlier in the morning, with reports of a vehicle being torched but police were deployed and managed to disperse and contain the protesting crowds using rubber bullets."
Fihla is still urging motorists to avoid the N12 between Eldorado Park and Lenasia.
