JSE-listed company EOH has seen some rocky times recently, including a shake-up of its board about a month ago.
Andrew Mthembu stepped down as a director of the technology services firm and its subsidiaries, as well as from his position as chairman and interim CEO.
Two other resigned from the board around the same time, after shareholders approached EOH regarding the board's succession plan.
In terms of its books, EOH reported a 2% year-on-year decrease in revenue to about R3 billion for the six months ended January.
EOH interim CEO Marius de la Rey said Kooblall's extensive knowledge and experience in the financial operations and businesses of the group made her well-equipped to excel in her new position as group CFO.
EOH is among companies named in the state capture commission for funnelling millions of rands to various people and the African National Congress (ANC) in exchange for tender awards.
Former sports minister and ANC MP Zizi Kodwa was arrested over a month ago for allegedly influencing the awarding of contracts to EOH holdings between 2015 and 2016.
