JOHANNESBURG - The Department of Water and Sanitation (DWS) is urging law enforcement to leave no stone unturned in bringing those responsible for the kidnapping and murder of its Deputy Director Sello Machitje.

Machitje’s body was discovered in an open field in Bekkersdal in Westonaria, more than a week after being reported missing.

It is understood that he was highjacked in the Vaal last week while traveling to the Eastern Cape.

His stolen bakkie was recovered in Alexandra, and a suspect has been arrested for being in possession of the stolen vehicle.

Water and Sanitation spokesperson Wisane Mavasa said: "DWS conveys its condolences to his family and loved ones, as well as the colleagues in the department, and further urges law enforcement agencies to leave no stone unturned in finding those responsible for this heinous deed."
