Ramaphosa's OPA speech pragmatic, factual and forward-looking, says Minister McKenzie
Minister of Sport, Arts and Culture, Gayton Mckenzie said what he liked most about President Cyril Ramaphosa's Opening of Parliament (OPA) speech was that it was honest.

CAPE TOWN - Minister of Sport, Arts and Culture, Gayton Mckenzie says the Opening of Parliament Address (OPA) on Thursday night was President Cyril Ramaphosa's best speech yet.
McKenzie, who joined Parliament for the first time in his political career as a minister, said Ramaphosa's speech was pragmatic, factual and forward-looking.

The minister said what he liked most about the speech was that it was honest.
"What is it that we are doing wrong, and he admitted that local government is not doing well. He even singled out eThekwini... He singled out the metros... He even gave reasons and plans for how we're going to fix that."
McKenzie also mentioned some of the reforms he will be implementing during his tenure as Minister.
"You can see schoolchildren not sitting on corners, being busy with sport, not only soccer, cricket and the big ones, but all the different sporting codes that have not been accessible to our kids. Like water polo is coming to them, horseriding, golf... You know it can't be that only a certain part of the population plays these sports."
