CAPE TOWN - Roadworks teams are busy assessing the damage to the main road between Citrusdal and Ceres as they wait for water levels to subside before full repairs can start.

Citrusdal has once again been cut off from the rest of the province after a series of severe storms hit the Western Cape recently, causing damage to the MR310.

Western Cape provincial minister of infrastructure, Tertuis Simmers, said that the department's teams were working on alternative routes to Ceres and Clanwilliam for Citrusdal residents.

He said that investigations were also ongoing to determine the necessary actions to rebuild the road.
