CAPE TOWN - In an animal rescue mission during the relentless rain that's been battering the province, Cape of Good Hope SPCA inspectors recovered a dog called Langa, who had been stoned and left out in the cold.
Langa, whose name means “Sun” was found on Wednesday huddled against a palisade fence in the very Cape Town township.
The SPCA's Belinda Abraham said the pitbull cross was left bleeding, frozen stiff, and abandoned after being beaten, apparently for relieving herself in front of someone's house.
“She was frozen stiff and had visible wounds to her head, but she’s making an incredible recovery now. We’re so thankful for everyone who supported our lifesaving emergency response work as well as every single individual who looks out for animals in their communities.”
A good Samaritan alerted the inspectors.
