CAPE TOWN - Private attorney Jceba Jack said that his clients who were accused of a string of kidnappings and extortion in Cape Town would be applying for bail when they appeared in court again next month.
Mlungisi Mbuthu, Bongani Zulu, and Zwelakhe Ngwenya are accused of targeting gay men in the city via dating app, Grindr.
It's alleged the trio would kidnap their targets, hold them hostage and extort money from them.
At least seven men have come forward claiming to be victims of the trio in separate incidents in the CBD, Durbanville, Brackenfell, Claremont, and Camps Bay.
They appeared at the Cape Town Magistrate's Court on Friday and the matter's been postponed to 1 August.
"The case has been postponed for bail application and my clients will be applying for bail," said Jack.
