CAPE TOWN - The Western Cape Disaster Management Centre is calling for the public to remain indoors if they don't have to travel.

The South African Weather Service has issued a Yellow Level 2 Warning, which indicates high chances of heavy rain and strong winds, that may lead to localised flooding.

Provincial disaster management executive director, Colin Deiner, however, said there were no new major incidents reported.

He added that some areas in the province had not yet fully recovered from the effects of the heavy floods in the past two weeks.

"It has been raining continuously. We have had electricity interruptions in Citrusdal, Betty's Bay, and the Rawsonville area. The road between Citrusdal and Ceres is open for 4x4s and we are able to reach people in that area. The weather warning continues through the day. We ask people to please proceed with caution if they have to travel and rather to stay at home."
