According to Cartrack, a prominent car-tracking company, vehicle component theft is on the rise in South Africa.
Certain cars are being targeted for specific items that are in demand on the black market.
These components include:
- Airbags
- Batteries
- Tailgates
- Wheels
- Tyres

MiWay advises motorists to take the following precautions to reduce the risk of theft:
- Park in busy, visible areas
