CAPE TOWN - The mood is beginning to pick up at the Cape Town City Hall, the red carpet has been rolled out for MPs and dignitaries attending President Cyril Ramaphosa's Opening of Parliament Address.
 
Ramaphosa is due to give a detailed plan of the Government of National Unity (GNU)'s key priorities at 7pm on Thursday evening.

Politicians and guests have dressed up for the opening of Parliament, gracing the red carpet with fashion and flair.

While some are dressed to the core for the Opening of Parliament Address, some have remained true to their red overalls and black boots.

Some guests, on the other hand, arrived cloaked in the colourful minwenda, the traditional attire for the Vhevenda culture, while others flaunted isiZulu attire.

Newly appointed Limpopo Premier Phophi Ramathuba and African National Congress (ANC) Treasurer-General Gwen Ramokgopa were among the notable figures on the red carpet.

Meanwhile, the presidential parade is preparing to welcome President Cyril Ramaphosa to his Opening of Parliament Address.
