CAPE TOWN - Correctional Services Minister Pieter Groenewald said that an inmate who posted video footage bragging about a comfortable life in prison had been charged for the illegal possession of a cellphone.

Groenewald believes it's because of corrupt Correctional Services staff.

The minister said that he would find out who else was involved.

"I want to know how did it happen that this prisoner had a cellphone with him. That means there's a security problem or corruption involved in this. So, he has already been removed from that specific facility and we will act when he then appears, because it is illegal."
