JOHANNESBURG - Democratic Alliance (DA) leader John Steenhuisen hopes the president's address will fully showcase the voices of all parties within the Government of National Unity (GNU).
Steenhuisen believes Ramaphosa will outline South Africa’s reform agenda, which he said was mainly aligned with DA policies when it comes to unlocking investment and economic growth.
He addressed a media briefing on the party's expectations ahead of the president's address.
Steenhuisen said that the GNU had extended the DA's executive might and strengthened its legislative capability.
"In these new roles, we will demonstrate to South Africans across the country what the DA can do at a national level given an opportunity to govern and in Parliament, we will show South Africans how legislatures can and should work as effective oversight bodies that keep the executive in check."
