JOHANNESBURG - The City of Tshwane says it will continue supplying water tankers to areas affected by a service interruption.
Residents in parts of the city have been contending with dry taps since Sunday, following a burst pipe on Thabo Sehume Street near the Gautrain bridge.
The city says water is being gradually restored to the affected areas following repair work this week.
It says the gradual return of water flow is being done to allow the system to build up the required pressure.
"Water has been restored in most of the areas along Stanza Bopape and Eastwood streets. Areas along Bosman Street also have water even though the pressure is still low.
"The areas along Justice Mohammed Street will take longer to get the flow as they are on the system’s high line," said spokesperson Lindela Mashigo.
