JOHANNESBURG - The African National Congress (ANC) is set to hold a disciplinary hearing on Wednesday for its former president Jacob Zuma.
Zuma is charged with bringing the party into disrepute after forming and campaigning for a different political party while still an ANC member.
Zuma is the leader of the uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party - which received the third largest votes in the recent general elections.
The hearing will be conducted virtually at 10am.

The ANC initially wanted to have Zuma’s disciplinary hearing at Luthuli House in Johannesburg, just before elections.
However, it was forced to cancel it due to fears there might be a confrontation between ANC and MK Party supporters outside its Johannesburg headquarters.
Mk Party spokesperson Nhlamulo Ndhlela said Zuma wants a physical hearing.
“What seems to be a cowardly move on their (ANC) end, they don’t want him to be there in person. We said, and we will continue to say – as Jacob Zuma had said – he wants to have a physical meeting, anything else will not fly.”
Ndhlela did not say whether Zuma will participate in the virtual hearing.
