Memorial service held for pupils killed in Carletonville crash

JOHANNESBURG - A memorial service in honour of 11 schoolchildren who died in a horror crash in Carletonville last week was held on Tuesday.
The children, along with their scholar transport driver, were killed when the minibus taxi they were travelling in was hit from behind by a bakkie last week Wednesday.
Seven pupils were rushed to the Carletonville Hospital before they were later discharged.
Stakeholders from the education sector and different spheres of government addressed the mourners.
The driver of the bakkie is under police surveillance while he recovers in hospital.
