JOHANNESBURG - The bail hearing in the murder case against alleged killer nurse Sithembile Xulu continued in the Lenasia Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

Xulu and her co-accused, Simon Mogale shared the dock last week after police linked them to the murder of 21-year-old domestic worker, Busisiwe Nxumalo.

It is alleged that the pair killed Nxumalo before getting rid of her body at a dumping site, allegedly for a R6 million insurance payout in 2021.

During her court appearance last week, the Johannesburg nurse refuted any knowledge of her co-accused, rubbished claims that she was involved in the murder of Busisiwe Nxumalo and pleaded not guilty.

However, the prosecution brought out cell phone evidence showing that Xulu did call Mogale on the day of Nxumalo's death.

It was also revealed that Mogale currently resides in an informal settlement dwelling owned by the alleged killer nurse, despite her denying knowing him.

Bail judgement was expected to be handed down on Tuesday.
