DURBAN - KwaZulu-Natal has a new South African Local Government Association (SALGA) chairperson.
Newcastle mayor, Xolani Dube, has been appointed to lead the South African Local Government Association in the province.
Thami Ntuli’s resignation last month as King Cetshwayo District Municipality mayor left another vacancy at SALGA in KZN.
The association announced that Newcastle Mayor Xolani Dube was appointed chairperson.
Dube has been an IFP councillor and head of the budget and treasury portfolios.
SALGA said that his local government experience will assist in fixing some of the challenges experienced in the province’s 54 municipalities.
