CAPE TOWN - Mopping up operations and assessments will continue across the Cape on Friday, with more inclement weather on the way.
 
The South African Weather Service (SAWS) has issued several yellow level 4 warnings for Friday, including damaging winds and disruptive rain that could lead to localised flooding of roads and settlements.

City of Cape town Mayco Member for Safety and Security, JP Smith said they remain on high alert.

“The storm weather is such that one is actually amazed that the situation wasn’t more extreme, considering the speed that the winds got to.

“I checked some of the wind metres around the city and at places those wind metres were indicating wind speeds at above 70 [kilometres per hour] when I checked, and I am sure they were even more.”
