JOHANNESBURG - THE African National Congress (ANC)'s Nomvuyo Mhlakaza-Manamela has been re-elected as deputy Speaker of the Gauteng provincial legislature following the resignation of the Democratic Alliance (DA)'s Refiloe Ntseke.

Ntseke resigned following failed government of provincial unity talks, which saw the ANC forming a minority government outside of the DA.

Mhlakaza-Manamela, who previously served in this position during the sixth administration, was elected unopposed.

The ANC caucus in the legislature has guaranteed she'll receive the necessary support in dispensing her duties.
