Families of Carletonville crash victims to begin DNA testing process
The Merafong Local Municipality said it had traced relatives of the children and the deceased driver to speed up the victim identification process.
JOHANNESBURG - The families of the 11 children who died in a horror crash in Carletonville on Wednesday will gather at a community hall to allow for the beginning of DNA testing.
The Merafong Local Municipality said it had traced relatives of the children and the deceased driver to speed up the victim identification process.
On Wednesday, a bakkie crashed into a minibus taxi transporting learners before it overturned and went up in flames.
"Tomorrow we will be at Kokosi Community Hall to meet with families for DNA tests - there’s also a commitment from the department that counselling will be provided for the learners," said Deputy Mayor Mogomotsi Sello.
