Suspect killed in shootout with police in the south of Durban

DURBAN - Kwazulu-Natal police say one of the four suspects linked to a robbery of two police officers in the south of Durban on Friday has been shot and killed in a shootout.
The four suspects attacked officers during a stop and search.
They robbed the officer of their firearms and fled with a police vehicle, which later overturned, during a police chase.
Spokesperson Jay Naicker said that the suspect was traced at a sugarcane plantation.
"At 16:30, in a follow up multidisciplinary operation, police and other law enforcement personnel traced one of the suspects to a sugar cane plantation in neighbouring Eston. following a shootout, the suspect was fatally wounded.“
A pistol belonging to one of the officers was recovered from the suspect.
