JOHANNESBURG - The African National Congress Youth League (ANCYL) in Gauteng says it's disappointed by the lack of young people in the party's Provincial Executive Committee (PEC).
At a media briefing on Friday, the ANCYL reflected on the provincial election results and the formation of the Gauteng cabinet.
It said that the ANC losing its majority in Gauteng for the first time, is a clear sign that new ideas are needed in the party.

Gauteng ANC Youth League convener Ntsako Mogobe said that the Government of Provincial Unity needs to prioritise creating opportunities for young people.
"We also call upon the ANC and the new executive to give 50% of senior management positions to young people. We want 50% of HODs [Head of Departments] and we also want 50% of businesses in this province to be given to young people. This will give efforts to ensure we prepare for the future and we reiterate our firm stance against the exclusion of young people in the mainstream of the economy," Mogobe said.
