JOHANNESBURG - Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi has assured residents that the provincial legislature won't be riddled by political turmoil and power squabbles.
This as the province is now led by a multi-party government for the first time since 1999.
There have been concerns that the legislature may face the same instability as seen in coalition governments at the local level over the past two years.
Lesufi, however, dismissed these concerns, suggesting that the Gauteng government will remain stable.
"We have a relationship of one form or another with all the political parties that are in that legislature. Actually, some of them, we are running municipalities, in them. We can tap into that knowledge where we want them to support us or when they want to raise objections."
