Gauteng Finance MEC Maile concerned about minority govt's impact on passing the budget
This means the ANC will need other parties in the legislature to pass a budget and implement policy.

JOHANNESBURG - Newly-appointed Finance MEC in Gauteng, Lebogang Maile, said that he was concerned about passing the budget as the African National Congress (ANC) had now formed a minority government.
Premier Panyaza Lesufi announced his Cabinet on Wednesday without any Democratic Alliance (DA) leaders.

This is despite the DA being the second-largest party in the province, after securing 28% of the vote.
This means the ANC will need other parties in the legislature to pass a budget and implement policy.
Maile said they would like to see a stable government.
"You can’t have a stable government if you don’t have a budget and you can’t pass certain laws so, as you know, in the legislature, there are other parties and we will engage with all the parties, including the DA, on a whole range of issues, so we are confident that we will be able to pass a budget."
