JOHANNESBURG - Rand Water says it cannot tell at this stage how much it will spend on water-supplied tankers for the duration of its major maintenance.
The utility is carrying out a five-week infrastructure upgrade programme.
This will result in residents experiencing water cuts where operations are underway, requiring alternative water resources.

Rand Water CEO Sipho Mosai says they will tally the costs at the end of the project.
"The impact is not the same across the city, but a water tanker costs R3,500 a day, that's the rough cost for a water tanker running for the whole day," Mosai said.
