JOHANNESBURG - Households in parts of Ekurhuleni are next in line for low water pressure and dry taps as Rand Water gears up for infrastructure maintenance in the metro.

The bulk water supplier is scheduled to begin its maintenance plan in the municipality on Monday and it is set to last until the end of July.

In the past few days, parts of Johannesburg had to endure dry taps amid Rand Water's infrastructure maintenance project in the metro.

In Ekurhuleni, Rand Water plans to replace valves on major pipelines throughout the whole of July.

Tembisa, Germiston, Katlehong, Boksburg and Alberton are among the communities to be affected.

The city has, however, assured residents that water tankers will be dispatched to service residents affected by the Rand Water's infrastructure maintenance.
