JOHANNESBURG - The family of a woman burnt to death in a tragic hospital fire are crying foul.
On Tuesday, Lerato Mohlamme was admitted to the George Mukhari Academic Hospital's psychiatric ward, confined to a secluded room before succumbing to her injuries.
The hospital, which launched an urgent probe into the fire, said it had offered the family of the deceased psycho-social support, however, the family said that all they wanted were answers.
The bereaved family met with the hospital's management, where they were engaged in a tense meeting for about two hours.
Shortly after they concluded, they addressed the media where they expressed their pleas for investigations to be fast-tracked before burying their loved one.
The victim's sister, Molebogeng Mohlamme, said it was not probable that her sister compromised her safety.
"There is nothing that my sister could have done to cause that fire."
With investigations ongoing, the family said not much could bring them peace other than the truth.
