Water tankers to be stationed at 11 sites in CT's southern suburbs amid maintenance project

CAPE TOWN - Water tankers are set to be stationed at 11 locations in the southern suburbs during a 72-hour water shutdown.
City of Cape Town teams are completing a major water maintenance project, and officials said this work would ensure that its pipe infrastructure was in the best possible condition for years to come.
The operation began at midnight on Sunday and is set to be completed on Wednesday.
Almost 30 areas, including Grassy Park, Steenberg, Marina Da Gama, Lavender Hill, Plumstead and Wynberg are affected.
Mayco Member for Water and Sanitation, Zahid Badroodien, said water tanker locations had been shared with councillors and could also be found on the city's social media platforms.
"I do want to appeal to residents, to please exercise order once at the water tankers and also to only take what is needed for you and your family so that the resource can be shared with as many people as possible."
Residents impacted by the 72 hour water shutdown are advised of the following tanker locations until 21:00:
