Ten people killed in collision between taxi and truck near Delmas

JOHANNESBURG - Ten people have been killed in a crash involving a taxi and a truck near Delmas in Mpumalanga.
It's understood that the accident happened on the R42 in the early hours of Monday morning.
Eight of the victims were passengers in the taxi which was coming from Johannesburg.
The Mpumalanga Community Safety Department said that the crash occurred during a side swipe between the minibus taxi and the truck at around 1am.
Two of the deceased were the driver and passenger in the bus truck.
Department spokesperson, Moeti Mmusi: "About 24 people sustained serious injuries, 18 of the injured were occupants in the bus truck, and six were in the minibus taxi. The injured were transported to the nearby hospitals."
Mmusi said the cause of the crash has not yet been determined.
