JOHANNESBURG - Joburg Water said that it has made provision for alternative water supply across the city, for the coming month.
This as Rand Water continues with its infrastructure maintenance project at the Eikenhof and Zwartkoppies pumping stations.
The 37-day maintenance programme began on Saturday with the bulk of water disruptions set to start on Monday.
The extensive maintenance will run until the end of July and will impact major water systems across Gauteng.
However, Joburg Water said that taps will not run completely dry during this period.
Utility Spokesperson Nombuso Tshabalala said, "During this time Johannesburg Water customers will be impacted by low pressure to no water. Johannesburg water has made arrangements for alternative water supply which will be in the form of stationary and roaming water tankers."
