Some areas that will have interrupted water supply in the city's south include Wynberg, Wetton, Ottery, Muizenberg and Diep River.
The city's MMC for Water and Sanitation, Zahid Badroodien, said the maintenance project is an important proactive investment.
"Water tankers will be available in key locations. These locations will be communicated through the ward councillor as well as social media. I do want to please encourage residents to make use of the water tankers, but also to use the water and to store the water sparingly."
