The FF+ had initially only supported the GNU in principle, but On Thursday it took the decision to sign the statement of intent.
The FF+ joined the GNU shortly after the PAC and Patriotic Alliance (PA) joined, further increasing its majority in the National Assembly.
FF+ president Pieter Groenewald said it would use the opportunity to implement and promote the party's policy and its voters' mandate to save South Africa from ruin.
While the FF+ is opposed to some African National Congress (ANC) policies like BEE, the party said it would seize the opportunity to contribute to the drafting of better policy directions to get the country on the right track.
The party has also said that the Phala Phala impeachment process might need to be looked at again in the seventh Parliament.
But it said that being part of the GNU enabled it to participate in processes such as the national dialogue organised as part of the GNU's activities.
