JOHANNESBURG - The fraud and corruption case against former BOSASA COO, Angelo Agrizzi, has been set down for August for pre-trial proceedings.
Agrizzi and his co-accused, former Correctional Services commissioner Linda Mti, the department’s former CFO, Patrick Gillingham, and BOSASA’s former CFO, Andries van Tonder, made a brief appearance at the Pretoria High Court on Thursday.
They face charges of fraud, conspiracy to commit fraud, corruption and money laundering in connection with tenders of more than R1.8 billion.
The charges against them are in connection with tenders dating back to 2004.
Agrizzi appeared virtually before the court, separate from his co-accused because of his ill health.
Last year, a report from the Weskoppies Psychiatric Hospital found that he was fit to stand trial.
The independent directorate’s Henry Mamothame said he would, however, be tried separately from his co-accused.
"The postponement was agreed upon by all parties to allow for the provision of all documents prior to the pre-trial date."
