Maimane says BOSA still weighing its options on joining GNU

JOHANNESBURG - With just a few days until President Cyril Ramaphosa announces his Cabinet, some political parties are still on the fence about joining the Government of National Unity (GNU).
Build One South Africa (BOSA) is one of the parties that expressed hesitation about the African National Congress (ANC)-led coalition initiative.

Speaking on the sidelines of the president's inauguration at the Union Buildings on Wednesday, its leader, Mmusi Maimane, said the party was still weighing its options.
"Never join a government if you are unclear about what it’s going to do. I’m passionate about education, but what I’m certainly not going to do is join a government that says we’ll keep 30% [basic education pass mark].
"Then, you are in a position but you’re doing what the ANC wants to do. If we are serious about this moment, let’s agree about the things we need to do."
