Suspect linked to Delft double murder expected to make court appearance

The man is suspected of being involved in a shooting that was caught on a bakery delivery truck's dashcam, where two employees were shot and killed.

CAPE TOWN - One of the suspects linked to the double murder that happened inside a bakery delivery truck in Delft, Cape Town, in May is expected to appear at the Bellville Magistrates Court on Wednesday.

This will follow his arrest on Sunday at the Delft Day Hospital.

He's suspected of being involved in the shooting that was caught on the truck's dashcam on 15 May, where two employees were shot and killed.

"During the initial stage of the investigation, the suspect was identified but evaded arrest after many tracing operations were initiated,” said police spokesperson, Malcolm Pojie.
 
"On 16 June, the investigating team followed up on information that the suspect was at the Delft Day Hospital for medical treatment after he was involved in a scuffle with community members who accused him of robbery."
