Chinese national arrested in Strand for dealing in illicit alcohol
Police said that a tip-off led them to a liquor store in Abbeglen Street on Monday, where fake liquor worth R450,000 was confiscated.

CAPE TOWN - Cape Town police have arrested another Chinese national for allegedly dealing in counterfeit liquor in Strand.
Police said that a tip-off led them to a liquor store in Abbeglen Street on Monday, where fake liquor worth R450,000 was confiscated.
A 48-year-old Chinese man was arrested and is expected to appear in court once charged.
Last week Wednesday, a 20-year-old Chinese man was also arrested when police confiscated R24 million worth of fake alcohol in Eersterivier.
The police's Malcolm Pojie: "The Western Cape Provincial Counterfeit Goods Task Team continues to make inroads into the illegal trading of counterfeit goods which impact negatively on the economy of South Africa through the confiscation of illicit liquor."
