JOHANNESBURG - Speculation continues to linger around the Cabinet appointments President Cyril Ramaphosa will make after his inauguration.
Ramaphosa will be sworn in for his second term as president at the Union Buildings on Wednesday.
Senior researcher at the University of Johannesburg, Oscar van Heerden, said that the appointments were likely to be made based on the agreements of the government of national unity (GNU).
"Parties have negotiated and said that their cabinet allocation should be proportionate to how they faired in the election, so the DA is basically saying: 'Since we got 21% in the election, we are entitled to five ministers and two deputy ministers' if the rumors are to be believed."
