With a little over two weeks until the United Kingdom general elections, all eyes are on the two main players in the game: Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and his Conservative party and Keir Starmer, leader of the Labour Party.
However, another party offers voters comic relief (if not jobs, lower taxes or an efficiently run NHS).
The Monster Raving Looney Party, established in 1982 by Screaming Lord Sutch, is a parody party known for its bizarre policies and appeal to protest voters.
"Thank goodness, sometimes, if only fleetingly, for the Monster Raving Looney Party and their candidates."
- Adam Gilchrist, UK Correspondent
"Twenty-two of them will be standing in this election, along with Hauling Lord Hope, there's Sir Baron von Thunderclap, Sir Grumpus L Shorticus..."
- Adam Gilchrist, UK Correspondent
Since its inception, the party has become known for its big hats, garish outfits and unique candidate names.
For example, next month it will be putting up Sir Archibald Stanton against Rishi Sunak in Richmond and Northallerton, and Nick the Incredible Flying Brick against Sir Keir in Holborn and St Pancras.
