JOHANNESBURG - High-level dignitaries have started to arrive in South Africa as the country prepares for the Presidential inauguration on Wednesday.

President-elect Cyril Ramaphosa will be inaugurated for a second term after the gruelling May 29 polls.

Several foreign heads of State will be in attendance including the presidents of Cuba, Burundi and Angola.

The government says law enforcement agencies have been fully deployed to ensure the safety and security of all guests.

Apart from a few more nuts and bolts, everything appears to be all systems go for the inauguration ceremony on Wednesday.

Soundchecks are being done on the lawns of the Union Buildings - where thousands of people are expected to attend and witness the momentous occasion.

After a decade, the presidential inauguration has returned to the Union Buildings.

The last time Cyril Ramaphosa took his oath of office as the country’s number one citizen was at the Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria.

He returns to The Presidency under another new dawn having been helped by opposition parties to ascend to power.

The vicinity of the Union Buildings has been adorned with South African flags as other heads of State also make their way to the executive seat to witness the inauguration of the fifth democratic president.
