North West sees highest rental growth, Western Cape still most expensive
The North West saw an increase of 9,8% but the Western Cape is the most expensive with rental prices averaging R10,300.

The rental property market in the North West is booming, with the province recording a 9,8% rental growth - the highest in South Africa.
"The average rental in North West is R6,300 which is still the lowest in all the provinces but it experienced the highest growth."

The Free State (9%) and Eastern Cape (5,6%) take the second and third spots for the highest rental rate growth in the country.
Despite the Western Cape only seeing 4,2 % growth, it remains the most expensive province with rental prices averaging R10,300.
"In Cape Town, the demand is extreme...there's a shortage of developments in Cape Town."

Ngomane says the country's average rental price is about R8,600.
"Nationally, the prices are very stable, which is good for the market because happy tenants, happy investors."
