Ramathuba scores in Limpopo as Premier amid provincial legislature votes for speakers & deputies

JOHANNESBURG - Limpopo has elected its first female Premier as Phophi Ramathuba.
The former Limpopo health MEC was elected during a sitting of the seventh provincial legislature in Lebowakgomo earlier on Friday.
During her maiden speech, Ramathuba called on legislature members to uphold their oversight role diligently.
The Inkatha Freedom Party's Thami Ntuli has been nominated as the Kwazulu-Natal Premier alongside UMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party's Phathisizwe Chiliza.

Chiliza is the former Chairperson of the House of Traditional Leaders.
The Democratic Alliance (DA)'s Mabatho Tembe has been elected the Deputy Speaker of the Kwazulu-Natal Provincial Legislature.
Tembe was up against MK Party's Ishan Barciela.
However, Tembe defeated Berciela with the difference of a vote.
Tembe had the backing of the Inkatha Freedom Party, DA, African National Congress and National Freedom Party coalition.
