This brings to two the number of people who have succumbed to the disease in the country.

Health Minister Joe Phaahla confirmed on Wednesday that there were five known Mpox cases.

Anyone experiencing Mpox symptoms, including a painful rash, has been urged to seek urgent medical attention.

Health Department spokesperson, Foster Mohale: "The latest case is a 38-year-old male who was admitted at a local hospital in uMgungundlovu in KwaZulu-Natal and tested positive for Mpox on Wednesday, 12 June after presenting with extensive lesions, headache, fatigue, oral ulcers, muscle pain and sore throat.
