With parties yet to agree on coalition structure in Gauteng, Rise Mzansi says it wants to be part of a credible govt

JOHANNESBURG - With two days left before the election of a premier in Gauteng, political parties are yet to agree on a coalition structure.
The provincial legislature is scheduled to hold its first sitting on Friday to elect a Speaker and appoint delegates to the National Council of Provinces (NCOP).
Rise Mzansi is among the parties engaging the African National Congress (ANC) and other organisations to form a stable provincial government of unity.
The party’s chairperson in Gauteng, Vuyiswa Ramokgopa, said Rise Mzansi wants to be part of a credible and effective government.
"Our position as Rise Mzansi remains consistent across the board. Our consistent view is that we really want to prioritise the convening of a stable government. We want to support a constitutional framework and we obviously want to support a make-up of government that is going to continue to do the work of government and serving the interests of citizens."
