MK Party to boycott sittings at 7 provincial legislatures where it’s represented
The party has a combined 116 seats nationally and in several provinces, including KwaZulu-Natal, where it requires just four seats to form a majority government.

JOHANNESBURG - In addition to boycotting the first sitting of Parliament, the uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party said it would also not be attending the sittings at the seven provincial legislatures where it is represented.
The party has a combined 116 seats nationally and in several provinces, including KwaZulu-Natal, where it requires just four seats to form a majority government.

It said until the courts heard and ruled on its claims regarding voter rigging during recent polls, it would withhold all its public representatives.
MK Party’s head of elections, Muzi Ntshingila, said he expected all members to follow the party directive.
“Remember, we are a party and as a party, we have taken a decision to contest the outcomes of the [elections], so all our members as a party are aligned to that decision. So, it's one movement, one decision, many voices.”
