Gugulethu gun attack claims one life, leaves another person injured

CAPE TOWN - In another gun-related attack, a man has died and another has been injured in Gugulethu.

The car the two security guards were travelling in broke down in NY-50 on Wednesday.

And while waiting for assistance, they were approached by unknown gunmen who fired shots at them.

The police's Wesley Twigg: "The 38-year-old male was declared deceased on the scene by medical personnel, while the other victim was taken to a medical facility for medical treatment. The suspects fled the scene with the victims' service pistols. Gugulethu detectives are investigating murder and attempted murder cases."
