CAPE TOWN - The state has continued to provide evidence in court to prove alleged underworld kingpin, Nafiz Modack was using a company to launder money for criminal activity.

Modack and 14 co-accused are facing 124 charges related to allegedly running a criminal enterprise.

Evidence presented in court on Tuesday showed Empire Investment Cars - a company owned by one of Modack's co-accused was allegedly used to pay some of the accused on trial.

It is the state's case, Modack's brother, Yaseen Modack sold the company to another accused, Adiel Mukudam in May 2019.

Evidence shows cash send transactions were being made from the company's bank account, to Mukudam's cellphone number. 

Bank statements also show a monthly salary of R100,000 was being paid to Mukudam's personal bank account.   

The bank card linked to Mukudam's account was later found in the same car Modack was arrested in, in April 2021.

On Tuesday, the court heard co-accused Zane Kilian, who is charged with illegally tracking slain top cop Charl Kinnear was also paid about R100,000  from the company's account.
