Tim Cook, the CEO of Apple, unveiled a groundbreaking array of generative artificial intelligence products and services during his keynote address at the company’s annual developer conference on Monday.

Among these innovations are "Apple Intelligence" and a strategic partnership with OpenAI, the creator of ChatGPT.

Cook expressed his belief that these advancements would propel Apple's products to unprecedented levels of innovation and usability.

Apple Intelligence is poised to seamlessly integrate into every app and device in the Apple ecosystem, offering functionalities ranging from enhancing written communication to optimising daily schedules.

As part of the announcement, Siri, Apple's iconic voice assistant acquired in 2010, received a significant refresh, boasting a redesigned interface and a more conversational approach to assisting users in navigating their devices and applications.

Furthermore, a host of exciting features were introduced, including:

  • The ability to send texts via satellite
  • Schedule messages for future delivery
  • Utilise intuitive head gestures – such as nods for affirmative responses and shakes for negatives – to control AirPods Pro seamlessly
  • Dedicated app for managing passwords across all devices, ensuring convenient and secure access to sensitive information
  • Users will now have the option to hide or secure certain applications behind Face ID or passcodes for enhanced privacy and security.
