JOHANNESBURG - The Al Jama-ah party is the latest political organisation to reject the African National Congress' (ANC) proposal to form a government of national unity.
The party has confirmed it met with the ANC at the weekend to discuss a possible coalition arrangement.
The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), ActionSA, and uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party have labelled the establishment of a unity government as disingenuous, claiming the ANC is abusing its 40% electoral outcome.

Al Jama-ah leader Ganief Hendricks said the party rejects any coalition arrangement involving the Democratic Alliance (DA).
"We don’t want South Africa to be governed by such uncivilized behaviour that goes against humanitarian values. If the DA and all those who are part of the moonshot pact continue supporting the genocide and killing of women and babies in Gaza, those are not the kind of people Al-Jama-ah and myself would want to govern with," said Hendricks.
